Commissions
Cate can work from your photograph, provided it has enough detail. She can take a photograph, if you are relatively local, or she can research a composition to suit any theme. With the advent of technology, commissions are easily achieved over long distances. Studio visits can be arranged by appointment.

Each woodburned illustration takes a considerable amount of time, anywhere from 10 to 40 hours. Most custom pieces range in price from $500 to 700+, depending on preparation, overall size and detail. Here are few examples.

In Loving Memory of Austin
Commissioned after he passed away in April 2009, the client's favorite picture had him in a Santa hat (top left). A second photo was requested (bottom left).

Through photo-editing, his ear were morphed into place (middle photo). With
the client's approval, Austin's woodburned illustration (right) was delivered in time for their Christmas party.

Client Comment: "How can I ever thank you for the beautiful illustration of our Austin? You really captured him. All our guests, most of whom knew and loved Austin, were amazed at your work. I cannot begin to tell you how much we love it."

Nudge & Roger
Cate took this photo of the client's horses. With some help from a bag of carrots, the boys offered-up a perfect pose. Commissioned by Tom for his wife's Christmas present.

Rusty All-Star
Commissioned by the family in memory of Russell Leon Couturier (Sept. 1, 1957 - Aug. 25, 2007)

Rusty passed away quite suddenly, only one week shy of his
50th birthday. An avid life-long sports fan, it seemed fitting to do
his portrait in the style of an old-time baseball card.

This portrait was done by taking the desired features from the client's two photos and a copy of Rusty's signature.

At a benefit raffle, held on 10/8/07, this piece brought in almost $1000. The winner then presented Cate's illustrative tribute to his mother.
By all reports, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
