Commissions

With today's internet technology, commissions are easily achieved over long distances.

Cate can work from your photograph, provided it has a high enough resolution and detail.

If you live within reasonable travel distance to the Rhode Island area, Cate can take a photograph for you.

Each illustration takes a considerable amount of time, anywhere from 10 to 40 hours, or more.

Most custom pieces range in price (typically $500 to 700+) depending on preparation, overall size and detail, as well as matting and framing.
Brooke & Poney: A Joyful Ride
Commissioned especially for her 21st birthday this past August. Burned on watercolor paper, the image expresses a truly joyful feeling and great love Brooke has for her favorite horse Poney.

This piece was doubled matted and presented in a Maple frame
crafted by Cate's husband in their West Greenwich workshop.
In Loving Memory of Austin
Commissioned after he passed away, the client's favorite picture
of Austin was in a Santa's hat. Cate got a second photo and made
this composite.

Austin's framed woodburned illustration was delivered in time for
their Christmas party.

Client's Comment: "How can I ever thank you for the beautiful illustration of our Austin? You really captured him. All our guests,
most of whom knew and loved Austin, were amazed at your work.
I cannot begin to tell you how much we love it."

Nudge & Roger
Cate took this photo of the client's horses. With some help from a bag of carrots scraps, the boys offered-up a perfect pose.
Rusty All-Star
Commissioned by the Family in Memory of Russell Leon Couturier (Sept. 1, 1957 - Aug. 25, 2007)

Rusty passed away quite suddenly, only one week shy of his
50th birthday. An avid life-long sports fan, it seemed fitting to do
his portrait in the style of an old-time baseball card.

This portrait was done by incorparating the desired features from the client's two photos along with a copy of Rusty's signature.

At a benefit raffle, this piece netted almost $1000. The winner then presented Cate's illustrative tribute to Rusty's mother. By all reports,
there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
