| Commissions Cate can work from your photograph, provided it has enough detail. She can take a photograph, if you are relatively local, or she can research a composition to suit any theme. With the advent of technology, commissions are easily achieved over long distances. Studio visits can be arranged by appointment. Each woodburned illustration takes a considerable amount of time, anywhere from 10 to 40 hours. Most custom pieces range in price from $500 to 700+, depending on preparation, overall size and detail. Here are few examples. |

In Loving Memory of Austin Commissioned after he passed away in April 2009, the client's favorite picture had him in a Santa hat (top left). A second photo was requested (bottom left). Through photo-editing, his ear were morphed into place (middle photo). With the client's approval, Austin's woodburned illustration (right) was delivered in time for their Christmas party. |

Rusty All-Star
Commissioned by the family in memory of Russell Leon Couturier (Sept. 1, 1957 - Aug. 25, 2007) Rusty passed away quite suddenly, only one week shy of his 50th birthday. An avid life-long sports fan, it seemed fitting to do his portrait in the style of an old-time baseball card. This portrait was done by taking the desired features from the client's two photos and a copy of Rusty's signature. At a benefit raffle, held on 10/8/07, this piece brought in almost $1000. The winner then presented Cate's illustrative tribute to his mother. By all reports, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. |
