Artist's Background: Remodeling Design Projects

Cate spent years casually helping people with furniture placement, choosing paint colors, fabricating drapes and upholstery projects. Little did she know that experience was about to come in handy.

In 2002, Cate's life and career took a dramatic turn. While undergoing cancer treatments, her stepfather suffered a stroke.
In order to get him back home, the entire upstairs of her parent's house had to be remodeled in accordance with ADA standards, wheel-chair ready. She only had four weeks to design a plan, then tear the house apart and put it back together again.

From this Cate discovered she had a knack for assisting homeowners with decorating and remodeling projects. She now works with Liberty Remodeling Contractors, Inc. as a Designer-Project Manager.
